This is a club, which means that the bar may only be open to club members.
Membership for individuals is just £20 and £30 for a couple but fees are expected to rise after the first three months. The new club will continue to act as the ‘branch’ for the RBL supporting the Poppy Appeal, Remembrance Day activities and significant war anniversaries.
Royal British Legion Teddington's club on High Street was closed because of financial difficulties.
The note on the door reads: "Dear Members, as you will be aware, due to financial irregularities, the RBLTC went into administration and we, the interim committee, have had to make substantial changes in order to save our beloved Community Club from closure. While we will endeavour to support the RBL charitable activities, such as the Poppy appeal and Remembrance Day marches, we will no longer be officially affiliated with the Royal British Legion Charity, and any membership with the RBL Club Limited will cease. We do hope that you will continue to support the new Club in order to ensure that this community asset continues to exist for many more years to come.
However, exRBL club will be relaunched as a community club under the building's original historic name called Cambridge House and to reopen on 2nd October 2026.
