Attractive privately-owned free-house, with parts of the building around 300 years old, adorned with hanging baskets, window boxes and flower troughs in summer. Interior features two large, smart, bar areas with dark wood ceiling beams, and a 40-seater restaurant/function room, known as the Jacob Flyn Room (after licensee's grandfather). Good reputation for food, regularly winning Taste of Staffordshire and Heart of England awards; no meals Sunday evening or Monday. Range of continental bottled beers available.
