Extended 17th century red brick building with moorings of Shropshire Union canal nearby. Real fires feature in the wood beamed main lounge bar and small snug. The pub is a popular stop-off for cyclists, walkers and canal boat travellers in the summer. Cheshire Oaks Retail Park, Blue Planet Aquarium and Ellesmere Port Boat Museum are nearby. Outside patio area with heaters and seating. Dogs welcome in the smaller public bar. There are eight handpumps on the bar but usually just one or two are in action. There is a discount on cask on Sundays.
