This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Brown Bear traded from 1715 to 1974. The photograph suggests that it was at one time part of the Dartford Brewery Company's tied estate, so would probably later have passed to Style & Winch and eventually Courage with successive takeovers. The pub was converted to housing after closure and for some years an etched window from the pub was still visible, but the houses were rebuilt some years later.
