Historic Interest
Grade II listed building. In July 1979 it was mentioned in an article about pubs still with bowling greens. In May 1981 it was a Greenall Whitley keg pub and remained so until 1996 when Holts were buying the pub, but it was going to be 1998 before the refurbishment was completed and the pub reopened now selling Holts Mild and Bitter (H). In January 1999 it was one of the pubs to trial Holts DBA. Holts Commonwealth Games Beers Baton Bitter ÂŁ1.20 and Baton Gold ÂŁ1.28 were available here. The pub was mentioned in an article in the last What's Doing in August 2006. The pub was included in the Good Beer Guide in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 the pub was selling Holts Bitter and their seasonal beers, by 2015 it included Holts IPA.
