This Pub is Permanently Closed

The British Volunteer traded from 1891 to 1963. The photograph indicates that it was probably part of the local Russell's brewery estate, so would have become part of the Truman's empire from 1930 when the former was taken over.

Sadly the pub was demolished in 1963 and the site is now occupied by housing.
