This Pub is Closed Long Term

The premises changed its name September 2019. The following description pre-dates this. One change that has happened is that the handpumps have been removed.

This is a modern bar near the bridge over the River Itchen. It is primarily an up-market food venue, but [did] have handpumps [no more] and their policy [was] to serve local micro-brewery ales. Note despite the early opening, alcohol is not sold until noon. A long bar is offset to one side whilst the seating area consists of high and low wooden tables and chairs with big panorama windows to watch the world go by outside. At the rear is the restaurant, with an open kitchen area, specializing in local produce. There's also a private function area and accommodation. On Fridays you can find acoustic live music in the bar from 9-11pm and on Saturdays a DJ plays from 9pm.
