Historic Interest
In May 1981 it was a keg Whitbread Pub, by April 1983 it was selling Duttons Bitter (H), though by June 1985 this had changed to cask Trophy Bitter and Castle Eden Ale. A social was held here on June 9th 1987. It was noted as selling Whitbread Pompey Royal in October 1987. It made an appearance in the 1988 Good Beer Guide. Cask Chesters Mild had been added to the range but by March 1988 this was now keg. In 1988 the pub was included on the monthly guest beer list, this was Hartleys XB in July 1988. From May 1991 it sold Holts Bitter as a guest for a while. By October 2002 the beers were Greene King Abbott, Grays Bitter, Boddingtons Bitter, Tetley Mild was on the board as being cask but was served through a Keg Whitbread Mild electric pump! In August 2006 the Pub was selling Hopback Summer Lightning and Coachouse beers. Converted from Pub to Restaurant, initially with cask beer in 2012.
