Boars Head, Barton

On the A6 north of Preston and next to St Lawrence parish church, this Mitchell's house was split into a spacious dining area, a games room with pool and darts and a small lounge adjacent to the bar. Children's play area to rear, outside seating and large car park. Quiz nights were on a Thursday and there was occasional live entertainment. Up to two cask beers available, often from unusual breweries for the area. There was a carvery on Sunday.

Closed 30 Sep 16 or thereabouts. A fire broke out at the premises on 18th July 2019 and the future now remains unclear. Local residents had been campaigning to buy the pub as a community pub although the owners had other plans although their application for planning permission for demolition of the property and residential redevelopment had been refused by the council.
