Historic Interest

Opened in 1970 to replace the old Anchor pub in front of the new pub. Blue A Higsons pub described in 1990 as a very comfortable pub with a nautical theme plus a room for meeting, selling Higsons Mild and Bitter and Boddingtons Bitter by handpump. The old photo was taken in 1983 when the pub served cask Higsons beers. The pub closed in 2016 and the building was converted to a supermarket by 2019.
