A popular micropub in a former clothes shop across the road from the Playhouse Theatre, with a striking black cat mural reminiscent of Edgar Allan Poe. The pub focuses on quality craft keg and key keg beers. On cask, Bass is permanent and up to three other ales, usually local but sometimes from further afield. There are up to 20 ciders available, which comply with the CAMRA definition of 'real' cider, and also keeved cider, perries and mead. Children are welcome until early evening. Occasional live music and quizzes. Payment by card is preferred.
