Historic Interest

In May 1981 it was a Greenall Whitley Keg Pub. In March 1988 the fake Electrick Handpumps indicated that the Mild was cask and not Keg or Tank like the Bitter. By the time the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide was published it was the Bitter that was cask not the Mild. The Horwich Social and Crawl visited here on June 18th 1994. When visited in February 2003 the pub was selling Tetley Bitter and Robinsons Bully Bitter. Subsequently owned by Punch Taverns and later in October 2009 Admiral Taverns. In 2017 Cask Beer had been available during the year at IL Toro in the upstairs cocktail bar. In 2022 it became Rivington Bar & Grill which had previously been the name at the Ridgway in Blackrod.
