This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

Located between County Hall and Aykley Heads, this popular eatery with a cosy atmosphere boasts seasonally-driven menus offering the big flavours of bistro classics with a few contemporary twists. Express lunch, daily specials and vegetarian options are all available and the venue can be hired for private functions. Writer's Block, a pale ale specially brewed by the Wylam brewery is on draught and other Wylam beers are available in bottles. There's a very pleasant courtyard with seating area and a public bar where you can enjoy the ale and the friendly welcome this venue offers. REPORTED CLOSED SUDDENLY IN LOCAL PRESS OCTOBER 2015
