A large building in the Scottish Baronial style. Within the hotel, the Scots Bar used to sell real ale, but visitors would normally be encouraged to visit the Birnam Tap next door.

Historic Interest
B Listed. Built 1850 and rebuilt after the Great Fire in 1912. Guests have included the King of Spain and the French Empress. The fine wrought iron gates are said to have been brought from Venice. There is also a fine vaulted oak beam Baronial Hall.
