A community group, Odiham Community Interest Company, campaigned to save the pub. When the previous tenants retired, Admiral Taverns sold the pub to a developer. The community group successfully opposed a planning application for change of use by the pub's owner, including opposing an appeal. In Apr 2024 the community group made on offer to the pub's owner which was refused. At the end of October 2024 they agreed a deal to buy the pub from the developers subject to us exchanging contracts by the end of the year. In November 2024 they launched an initial share issue, and raised ÂŁ217,000 by selling 1085 shares to 300 shareholders. A community investment and the communities ownership grant, allowed them to buy the pub at the end of 2024. During 2025 the pub was repaired and renovated. The pub reopened in February 2026.
