This Pub is Permanently Closed

This pub is of an old architectural style and still has stable buildings at the rear by the secluded garden area.

It closed at the end of March 2014 and was converted illegally to residential accommodation which saw the local council take legal action. There has been some demolition of the outbuildings. A planning application to convert it into flats was approved in August 2017 and work on conversion to flats began shortly afterwards.

Historic Interest

Often stated to be the oldest pub building however this is erroneous as it was the second pub of this name. the first was sited a little way behind the second pub.
