Bearwood Brewery Tap Room, Wokingham

Based in Wokingham, Berkshire, Bearwood Brewing is an independent craft brewery with a taproom overlooking the brewhouse. We’re focused on brewing exceptional beer. From hop-forward IPAs and rich, indulgent stouts to vibrant, fruit-led sours and everything in between.

The name “Bearwood” came from early meetings at a potential site near Bearwood Lakes. We started referring to the project as Bearwood, and the name simply stuck.

Our Head Brewer, John Willatts, honed his craft at Binghams Brewery, where he helped create the CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer in 2016. He has also brewed at Ascot Brewing Company and Disruption Is Brewing, winning SIBA’s Best Cask Pale in 2023. He’s joined by Max Baylis, who brings experience from The Outhouse Brewery.

Behind the scenes, Peter Rhodes and Christian Cummins focus on quality control and ensuring Bearwood remains an inclusive and welcoming space for both staff and customers.

And of course, Bearwood wouldn’t be what it is without the wider team, friends, family, and a dedicated crew supporting everything from design and deliveries to festivals and events.
