Sadly the Bear & Billet is currently in serious decline and neglect. The lease holders, having been unable to sell the leasehold, are presumably now waiting for the leasehold agreement to expire. Food, cask ale and TV sport have all gone and opening hours drastically reduced.
This is such a shame as it is an historic Grade I listed, 17th century, timber-framed building with wonderful facade situated close to the river Dee. Comprising three floors, ground level features a front bar and wood fire with more table seating to the rear. Upstairs is a quieter seating while the floor above serves primarily as a function room. Small outside area to the rear primarily for smokers.
A turnaround in ownership and fortune cannot come soon enough.
