Don't be put off by the rather forbidding exterior of this large back street free house; inside you will discover a welcoming oasis. A wide and often unusual range of very reasonably priced real ales, and kept in tip-top condition by the enthusiastic and enterprising manager. If you are peckish try the good value bowls of Bombay or Mexican mix and forget the crisps. A true jewel in this Eastern Firmament. Do not miss it! Beer range always variable. Shoveha'penny
