Historic Interest

Built in 1953 on the bombed out site of the former Avenue Cinema by Birkenhead Brewery and named the Avenue. Serving Whitbread beers in the 1980s, it was closed, acquired by Atwill pubs, refurbished and reopened as the Open Arms in 2012. Closed in May 2015 and demolishedin May 2017 for residential development.
