Pub reopened in December 2024 having been bought by the Ashendon Community Pub Society Limited (a Community Benefit Society) in September 2024. They are looking for a tenant to run the pub. There are plans for the food offering and the B&B rooms.

The pub closed in November 2021. The Ashendon Community Pub Society Limited (a Community Benefit Society) has campaigned to save the pub. In March 2024 they were awarded a grant of £300K from the Community Ownership Fund. They launched a community share scheme in May/June 2024 and raised .£500K. In September 2024 the purchase of the freehold was completed. They are now looking for a tenant to run the pub.
