An old coaching inn, dating back to 1757, just about as far from the sea as it is possible to get; the name comes from the fact that it was constructed by a former sea captain. Note the unusual poem inscribed on the outside of the building, exhorting customers to come in, sit down, relax and stop worrying. In the same family for over 100 years and current landlord 20 years. Bar plus lounge. Pub specialises in Outside functions. Hours on a sunday may vary.
