Large and imposing Victorian frontage bearing the initials of the previous ownership gives way to a more contemporary interior with the original flooring now exposed again. Two warming real fires. Up to four real ales from independent brewers are available, often with an emphasis on local ales. Regular live bands, jam nights and karaoke feature. Wednesday nights host stand-up comedy, pub quiz or bingo, generally on a rotating basis. The games room includes a pool table. The pub actively supports local charities and good causes.
