This Pub is Permanently Closed
Opened in 1869 as The Albion Ale Shades, this pub was rebuilt in 1910 and continued trading until 1962. The building remained intact until 1965, when, as seems traditional in Gravesend, it mysteriously went on fire and was demolished soon afterwards. It had traded as a Wood's house earlier, later passing to Russell's and finally Truman's during the brewery takeover frenzy of the late 20th century.
