This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Whyteside Inn was a former Whitbread eatery, later sold on in the mid 1990s. It was reported as closed down in September 2009. The first planning application to demolish and build new housing was rejected after local campaigners protested about the style of new houses. It lay empty and derelict for nearly a decade until another plan was agreed. It was demolished in 2018 and new houses built 2020-21.
