This Pub is Closed Long Term

Closure date is a guess, check newspapers.

This was formerly the old Crown Inn dating back to at least 1799. In its early days it was a very large building occupying the adjacent houses at No 6, 8, 10 & 12 Bank Street. Later on circa 1868-70 a new extension was built between the hotel and the church (which protrudes into the pavement). As the hotel business diminished, it just became a pub in the new section. It was Steakout in 2010 and by 2014 it was the Bank Bar. Last seen closed and empty in 2022.
