Originally built to house one of the earliest electricity plants in Dorset which provided power to Lord Portman's mansion (now Bryanston School) until mains electricity arrived. It was then converted to a club for workers on the estate and later the wider community. It is fully accessible and expansive with a lounge area and good-sized bar, an event space with its own beer garden, a games area, skittle alleys and a snooker room. A second beer garden which includes a covered patio.
