This Grade II listed building was originally the Sunderland home of the Lambton family in the 1790’s. When the Wearmouth Bridge was completed in 1796 it was converted into a coaching inn and renamed The Bridge Hotel. The pub closed in 1998.
Vaux Brewery have taken over the ground floor and reopened it in November 2024 as the Bridge Hotel Vaults. There are up to 4 handpulls serving both Vaux and local brewery beers
