This Pub is Permanently Closed
The licence was refused in 1913 and compensation of £600 paid, the licensee at the time was Frederick William James. The building was subsequently demolished and the site is part of the car park for Cameron Wharf flats. Originally the Hand & Trumpet was located on the other side of the road but this property was sold to St Dominic's Convent and used as St Marys Home for elderly and terminally ill women, the pub was then relocated to 57 Newcastle Road.
