Community Owned
Freehold Owner: Community Benefit Society. Year Purchased 2022.
2022-01-24 Skeeby Community Pub Society reached an agreement to purchase the Travellers Rest from the current owner. Their share sales passed the £100k mark. They only needed £125k to complete phase 1 - the purchase of the Travellers Rest – as a £50k Community Investment Fund (CIF) grant from the local Council bridged the gap to the £175K purchase price. Phase 2 will then, they hope, take investment to the estimated £275k total needed to complete refurbishment as well. In January 2022 the Skeeby Community Pub Society completed the purchase of the pub. The group has sold shares worth more than £200,000 to over 160 people, mostly locals including Richmondshire MP and chancellor of the exchequer Rishi Sunak.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers (Mithril ales Varies Black Sheep Timothy Taylor) and 0 regular beers.
