The Cider Hole closed on May 27th, expanding and moving into an old shoe shop in June 2023 under a new name: the Old Shoe Bar. The new bar is a joint effort with the owner of Sheffield bar The Bear, and will see a big expansion in the draught cider provision and an increase in the beer and wine range, with a focus on natural wines.

The Cider Hole produce Exemption Cider from a blend of donor Sheffield eating and cooking apples blended with bittersweet apple juice supplied by their friends at Ross Cider in Herefordshire - an Eastern Counties style / Western Counties style blend. The bar serves a small range of draught real ciders and a wide range of bottled ciders and perries including live bottle conditioned and bottle fermented products.
