Historic Interest

The Wellington Hotel dates back to at least 1850 when it was listed in Bagshaw's Directory. An Argyle Brewery pub transferred to Birkenhead Brewery in 1866. The pub was demolished to widen the road and a new pub built behind it and opened in 1937.
