A new micropub opened its doors to the public on Friday 23 July 2021 in a basement down a few stairs in a row of Georgian terraced houses on Eldon Square just outside the shopping centre. The interior has a rustic feel after a thorough refurbishment of the venue. Tables are also available outside. The pub is a sister pub to the Old Fox in Felling and Beer Street in Newcastle. Now has an outdoor drinking area at the rear, the "wobbly Garden", an enclosed paved area with outdoor heaters.
