Community owned freehouse pub and hub that opened in 2022. It is two miles along the coast to the north of Rothesay and offers views of Cowal and the opening of Loch Striven.
The single room is comfortably decorated with nautical ephemera, including local sea charts.
As well as a cask ale the pub serves keg beers brewed by Fyne Ales and there is a fine selection of malt whiskies, and gins distilled on the island.

The Port Bannatyne Development Trust (a Community Benefit Society) purchased the Anchor Tavern in Feb 2022. They were able to obtain the whole of the purchase price from the Scottish Land Fund as mentioned in the Argyll Bute. They had lots of help from Highlands And Islands Enterprise.
