The Borough reopened in March 2018 after a major refurbishment and an outside repaint. The once central bar has gone now replaced by one further back from the main entrance. Real ale returned in Summer of 24 but on a visit in December 24, only one on the bar with no real ale.! he pub had a refurbishment ( carpets and furniture) in Autumn 2024. Located on busy corner near several bus stops and 2 minutes walk from Park Lane Metro Interchange.

Historic Interest

Was called The Vine Cottage when it opened in the 1820's. Changed to the Borough by 1871. Within Bishopwearmouth Conservation Area
