Set in a conservation area and dating from 1595, the pub still retains many original features but is opened out, merging the saloon and public bars, leaving a horseshoe shaped bar - and the back room has been incorporated to give a dining area for lunches. Very busy for Sunday lunches. Breakfast is served from 10am in Saturday and the pub has a daily pie special. There is a warming fire in winter. The function room is the Old School Room across the yard, where darts are played every Thursday. The pub is an active live music venue and features lunchtime Jazz every Wednesday. Lantern Ale is the house brew.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers (Often Lantern Ale brewed exclusively for the pub.) and 1 regular beer.
