This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Rising Sun used to belong to Page & Overtons brewery and above the fireplace was a Thompson's of Walmer mirror, a relic of another brewery snapped up by Charrington's. One of the beams in the bar was engraved with the date 1888. By 2014 the pub was primarily an Indian restaurant, with a rear restaurant in addition to the front bar area, but in September 2014 this closed and is now being converted to residential use.
