This Pub is Permanently Closed
This was a large Edwardian pub set back from the main road with a small car park and outside drinking area. There were some attractive exterior architectural details and a long rectangular signboard over the front entrance, depicting the pursuit of the hare. Major structural works in 2005 altered the pub's interior considerably and it became open plan with a single bar along the back wall. It sat next to a large Sainsbury's Superstore on which London Transport's Chelsham bus garage once stood. The Hare & Hounds was was once a Charrington tied house but closed in August 2012 and is now a coffee bar.
