This Pub is Permanently Closed
This large Mock Tudor pub was a former Toby Inn and restaurant. It also offered accommodation and function facilities. It dated from 1932, and featured teak timbers from HMS Ganges, which was built in Bombay in 1821. This was the last sailing ship to serve as a sea-going flagship. In the early days the pub used to have its own cinema. The pub was closed by pub-chain Mitchells & Butlers in 2004.
