This pleasant pub, situated close to paths leading to Helvellyn, has two rooms, a bar and a lounge, which are comfortable and cosy with wood panelling, and relaxed tables and chairs.

The terrace immediately outside the pub, plus the yard and the gravelled terrace, has fine views across the valley and behind the pub.

Opening hours are reduced in Jan & Feb. A second hand pump may be used in the busy season.
