Isobar is one of Southamptons's gay bars, located adjacent to the railway bridge on St Mary Street. Formerly a bank, the main bar area is quite small but there is a covered smoking patio and small garden area outside. While there are no draught ales, there is a selection of bottled ales. Isobar can be very quiet during the day and on weekday nights but is very popular on Wednesday nights for its 'Bar 150' promotion, where all drinks are £1.50. There is weekly cabaret/DJs/karaoke/quizzes and occasional fancy dress events (Halloween being a particularly good example).
