This pub has been much extended since being built in Tudor times, and has at times had its own brewery, coach-house and dairy. There is a public bar, a spacious lounge/dining area, and a handsome conservatory; two real fires, agricultural equipment and many pictures worth studying add to the attraction. The garden affords verdant views. Food is available all day on Saturdays and Sundays; the menu includes home-made desserts and local artisan cheeses. Events include an annual casino night. Nearby, but remote from the village, is the 12th century parish church.
Bar may close early on quiet days; please call the pub to check. Details on website.
