This Pub is Permanently Closed

A former Marstons, then Greene King pub. Believed closed in October 2008. Google streetview March 2009 shows pub well kept but we believe not opening at that time - car park was empty in the afternoon. The first of 3 failed planning applications for this pub and the adjacent buildings (Shop/Post Office) went in 02/12/2009. During this time the pub was fenced off & becoming derelict - our photo is from January 2013. A fourth planning application went in 08/10/2013 and was granted 02/12/2013. Google Earth shows pub demolished by 15/04/2014 and three pairs of semi-detached houses were built by December 2014.
