Just west of Consett, near the hamlet of Allensford on the River Derwent, the Derwent Manor Hotel is easily reached along the A68. The Antler bar offers a lounge with Chesterfield sofas and large fireplace plus an outside terrace. Meals available all day, there is a separate restaurant, Prego, open in the evening. Accommodation available, the hotel regularly holds events.

Unfortunately the hotel decided whilst fitting a new bar in March 2025 to not reinstall handpumps and therefore no longer serve real ale.
