Opened in March 2015, and soon to celebrate its 10th birthday, the Infant is one of several micro-pubs within what was the town's 'solicitors' quarter', all within a stone's throw of each other, and located in parallel streets of substantial Victorian terraced houses just south of the main shopping precinct and north of the University campus.
While handy for the Law Courts, Middlesbrough football ground is a fifteen minute walk away.
Its close location to the Riverside Stadium has resulted in developing a national reputation amongst dicerning away football supporters, with matchday Saturdays resulting in a tremendous atmosphere.
Named after Gladstone's description of the town in 1862, after he had witnessed the expansion of the local steel making and ship building industries, all now sadly departed.
