This Pub is Closed Long Term
This pub closed in 2017 and was becoming derelict. Swansea Council announced possible plans to take over the property, which was approved in 06/03/2020 as: FPR7 - The Acquisition of The Lamb, 105 High Street, Swansea. But this did not happen.
But two planning applications in 2024 have been made and approved. One is to demolish this pub and some adjoining properties and another to redevelop existing flats and develop some new flats (below):
The following planning application was made to Swansea City & County Council on Wed 20 Mar 2024 and decided as "Prior Approval Not Required" on Thu 18 Apr 2024:- 2024/0540/PND | Former public house at 105 High Street, Single storey flat roof structures to side of Block 2 (64-115)Croft Street, Flat roof structures to rear of Block 3 (1-11), Croft Street , Flat roof garage blocks between Blocks 1 and 2 (12-115), Croft Street, Flat roof canopies to all Blocks and and stair block to Block 4 (106-117) High Street (application for Prior Notification of Demolition) | Land At Croft Street And High Street Swansea SA1 1QE
The following planning application was made to Swansea City & County Council on Thu 04 Apr 2024 and approved on Thu 19 Sep 2024:- 2024/0621/FUL | External re-cladding of facade of four existing residential blocks including new balustrading, external windows/doors and roof finishes with raised parapets, new entrance lobbies to Block 1 and 2, small extension to rear of Block 3, new external staircase to Block 4 and shopfront alterations to ground floor of Block 4, creation of 4 no. new ground floor residential flats in each of Block 1 and 2 (8 no. in total), provision of new residential parking areas together with new fencing, hard and soft landscaping, bin stores and plant rooms and other associated works | 1-115 Croft Street And 105-117 High Street.
