Estate pub on outskirts of town with food & live sport on TV. The Greyhound pub is sometimes recorded as being located in the parish of Rushmere St Andrew. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolk.camra.org.uk/pub/476

Historic Interest

The pub has been recorded as the Rushmere Greyhound in the 19th century; boundary & name changes accounting for the discrepancy. It appears as the Greyhound on the 1904 OS map, but had changed to the Garland by 1927. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 14 Aug in 1847 states that : "Lot 2: The Greyhound, Rushmere, in full trade let to Mr BAKER at £12 per year."
