This Pub is Permanently Closed

In July 2012 reverted to its original name after a few years trading as the Donkey (its long time nickname) Had been closed for a while, but reopened 16th July 2012. Subsequently closed again in the early months of 2013, possibly for good. Historic Interest

Closed as White Horse in 2002. Subsequently used as an antiques shop & private residence. Re-opened as The Donkey Restaurant & Bar in May 2009. Hit by a German bomb during an air raid in about June 1940 - but pub continued trading.** In 1956 permission was granted to erect petrol pumps on this site when part of the business also then traded as a "Regent" garage. It is currently believed that the garage had ceased trading by the early 1970s unless you know different?
