Hotel currently closed (May 2020) and boarded up - proposals revealed by owners in 2013 to redevelop site into a mixture of private accommodation, boutique hotel, restaurant and shops was approved in Jan 2018.

The Flying-boat Bar was a public bar that was just a part of this large & extensive hotel complex that enjoys fine views over the promenade.

Historic Interest

The 1910 Felixstowe Rates Book lists "Site of Marlboro' Hotel" in Sea Road, suggesting that the hotel was built after this date. (This particular book lists a large number of land plots evidently destined to be used for the expansion of the town.
