Once owned by the Lister family of Shibden Hall, whose arms appear above the door, the original pub on this site was buried during construction of the Godley Lane road cutting in 1827, the present building being created on top of the original structure. Catering for 'locals' and passing trade, with an emphasis on food, it now has a semi-open plan layout, with the bar and lounge to the left of the entrance and a large restaurant on two levels to the right.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
